NAIROBI 6TH MARCH, 2025: The second day of the Kenya School of Government’s Women Conference, held as part of the 2025 International Women’s Week celebrations, continued with a strong focus on Accelerating Innovation for Women Empowerment. The discussions and interactive plenary sessions provided a platform for thought leaders, policymakers, and innovators to explore transformative strategies that can drive gender equality through emerging technologies.

One of the key highlights of the day was the intergenerational dialogue, which emphasized the importance of leveraging innovation to inspire and impact future generations. Panelists shared insights on how women across different age groups can collaborate to drive technological advancements while preserving values that foster inclusive growth.

The role of emerging technologies in promoting gender equality took center stage, with discussions covering digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and data protection. Experts explored how AI-driven solutions can break barriers for women in various fields, while also addressing the ethical concerns surrounding data privacy and security.

A crucial aspect of the day’s agenda was financial inclusion and access to capital for women. Speakers highlighted the need for gender-responsive financial policies, enhanced digital banking solutions, and capacity-building programs to empower women entrepreneurs. The discussions underscored the fact that economic independence is a key pillar of women’s empowerment, and leveraging innovation can bridge existing financial gaps.

The day concluded with an engaging session titled “Our Collective Vision for Gender Equality in Kenya,” where participants reflected on the progress made and the steps needed to achieve a more inclusive society. The dialogue reinforced the conference’s broader goal—harnessing innovation as a tool to break gender barriers and create sustainable opportunities for women across all sectors.

As the conference moves into its final day, the momentum continues to build toward actionable solutions that will shape the future of gender equality in Kenya.
