Beyond Zero Joins West Pokot County to commemorate Menstrual Hygiene Day 2024

The Beyond Zero Initiative, in collaboration with the County Government of West Pokot and other partners, gathered today at Chepnyal Girls Primary School to celebrate Menstrual Hygiene Day 2024. The event emphasized the importance of menstrual health and dignity.

The theme for this year, “Together for a Period-Friendly Kenya,” resonated throughout the event, highlighting the collective effort needed to create an environment where menstrual health is supported and respected

Beatrice Koki, representing Beyond Zero, showcased the initiative’s impactful work over the past year. “We have implemented a one-year menstrual hygiene initiative, distributing period packs to twelve schools in North Pokot, ensuring girls remain in school and manage their periods with dignity,” she noted. This effort has been instrumental in breaking barriers that often prevent girls from attending school during their menstrual cycles, thus promoting continuous education and personal growth. #PeriodFriendlyWorld
